Community Organizations
Beyond these events, Simi Valley is home to numerous organizations dedicated to community service and engagement. The Simi Valley Community Council (SVCC), established in 1970, brings together organizations, agencies, and individuals to coordinate efforts for community betterment. Membership includes tax-supported agencies, volunteer organizations, service clubs, businesses, and interested individuals from the greater Simi Valley area. The council meets monthly to discuss community issues, organizational needs, and promote upcoming events.
Another notable organization is the Kiwanis Club of Simi Valley, which has been active since 1965. The club focuses on community service, particularly for the children of Simi Valley. They host various events throughout the year, including the Star Spangled Rock & Country Jam & Fireworks Celebration on July 4th, in partnership with the City of Simi Valley and the Rancho Simi Recreation and Parks District. This free event features non-stop rock and country music, food vendors, a free fun-zone for kids, and live fireworks music by the Simi Valley Symphony Orchestra.
